Swedish Association of Corporate Treasurers (SACT)

The Swedish Association of Corporate Treasurers (SACT) founded in 1988 has currently some 60 members. The members are large and global Swedish companies, which combined correspond to the majority of the value on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and represent all major industrial sectors and have extensive experience of international business.

SACT’s main objective is to be an active forum for treasury and finance related issues. The agenda is increasingly determined by the trends of globalization and harmonization that characterize the daily activities of today’s corporates. The Association works closely with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.

SACT strives to increase the expertise and effectiveness of its members in issues related to finance and corporate treasury. It also serves as an opinion-maker and referral body for legislation, regulations and trends in its field. There is a practical and specific focus on knowledge building and networking. Best practice and benchmarking are important tools and the active involvement by members is crucial.

Through its work with review of draft legislation and opinion-making, SACT has contact with the leading players in the financial market, for example the Swedish Central Bank, supervisory authorities, commercial banks, insurance companies and industry organizations. In many cases, SACT’s draft proposals have resulted in amendments to legislation and regulations.
